Vanamo Woven Wrap Ahven Levä

New Vanamo woven wrap contains 40 % Merino wool, 30 % Bourette silk and 30 % linen. The misty grey silk, green linen and natural creme wool bring out the beautiful classic herringbone pattern! Bourette silk is very lively and bumpy, and it gives a lovely texture for the wrap. Merino wool is superwash quality, soft and not itchy at all!

Only two wraps were made of this blend and color! The size is between sizes 5 and 6 - about 4,5m.

The Vanamo Ahven baby wrap combines all the good qualities of natural silk, linen and wool. Wool gives the wrap softness, fluffyness and a great bounce - silk and linen on the other hand make the wrap more solid and supportive. Silk, wool and linen help keeping you and baby comfortable in both hot and cold conditions. They absorb great amount of moisture and direct moist away from your body keeping the skin dry.

The Ahven weave is diagonally elastic and the baby wrap gives optimum support for the baby and feels comfortable for both the wearer and the child. The weight of the wrap is about 260 g/m2. This medium weight wrap is great for babies of all ages and toddlers as well.

"Ahven" is a Finnish word for a perch fish and it is the perfect name for this lovely weave. Herringbone weave works great for baby wraps because it is easy to tie and molds well around the carrier and child. The weave is also quite porous and airy.

Please notice: Bourette silk is a stuctured yarn and it makes the fabric look bumpy and a little rough. Ahven Levä wrap contains small slubs, knots and short ends of thread. The irregularities are characteristic for this wrap.

How to care for your Vanamo wrap: Hand wash in cold water (30 celcius), use detergent suitable for wool and silk, hang dry, ironing with low heat & steam. NO tumble-drying!

PLEASE NOTICE! We recommend washing the wrap before starting to use it. The weave will tighten up and obtain the final dencity & thickness. Each wrap includes some extra length to compansate chrinking.
